Mae gen i go’

img_0906Mae gen i go’ (I remember something) is a joint project between Theatr CynefinGISDA in Caernarfon and STAMP which involves collecting sensory memories from the people in the town and placing a plaque in the exact location of that sensory memory…but not any plaque.  It is a QR Code on a slate which guides people who have smartphones to a webpage with a picture of the person and a recording of the sensory moment.
We hope that soon every Cofi in the town will want their own plaque!

We will also be looking for volunteers to turn this audit of sensory memories into a Sensory Labyrinth Theatre performance at Cei Llechi (Ynys y Gefail) in February 2016.  caernarfon-quey

This will lead all lead to a vision report for the site that suggests how it could be made into a powerful sensory experience for visitors walking from the new station to the castle – making it a living multi-sensory museum.

The aim is to develop a new way of community consultation that is also effective as a community regeneration tool that celebrates the aural history and living heritage of a town and turns this into a vision for town planning that builds on peoples sensory experiences and expectations of their built environment.

You can find examples of the QR Code recollection here.
